As a Behavioral Health Licensed Practical Nurse, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:
- Provide compassionate care to patients with mental health conditions
- Monitor patients' mental and physical health
- Take patient vitals, do assessments, document progress and report changes to RN supervisor
- Assist with therapy sessions
- Work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to implement treatment plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and plan for discharge
A few must-haves for Behavioral Health Licensed Practical Nurses:
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program and active LPN license in GA
- Minimum of 1 full year experience as an LPN. Preferably in psych or behavioral health setting
- CPR certification
- Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations
- Clinical proficiency in nursing, strong communication skills and compassion
