Position Overview :
The Event Design Director is a seasoned leader with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the event design industry, responsible for overseeing the entire design process and ensuring the seamless execution of high-profile, complex events. This hands-on role demands exceptional creative vision, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver unique, impactful event experiences. The Event Design Director will manage a team of designers while also overseeing the execution of multiple client projects. This role requires a highly organized and strategic thinker, with a keen eye for design, and the ability to lead with confidence in an in-person setting.
Key Responsibilities :
- Leadership & Design Oversight
- Lead the event design team in creating and executing the overall creative vision for multiple events, ensuring that each design reflects the client’s goals and the brand's vision.
- Provide hands-on direction and mentorship to the design team, ensuring consistent quality, creativity, and attention to detail across all projects.
- Oversee the creative process for all design deliverables, including furniture design boards, floral briefs, fabrications, lighting, entertainment, branded touches, and overall event styling.
- Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients regarding event design concepts, ensuring clear communication, presenting design ideas, and gaining client approval at key milestones.
- Lead client status meetings, ensuring smooth communication of design progress and addressing any concerns or adjustments as needed.
- Work closely with clients to understand their vision and translate it into a unique, memorable event experience that exceeds expectations.
- Team Management & Collaboration
- Manage and oversee a team of Event Designers and 3D Associates, providing guidance and support to ensure design concepts are executed effectively and creatively.
- Collaborate with other departments within the organization, including production, logistics, and operations, to ensure alignment and smooth execution of design concepts at all stages of the project.
- Lead the team through the production and installation phases, ensuring high standards of quality control, timeline management, and attention to detail.
- Project Management & Execution
- Lead and oversee the planning, design, and execution of multiple large-scale event design projects concurrently, ensuring all deadlines are met and each project stays within budget.
- Coordinate site visits and on-site assessments as needed to ensure designs are executed as envisioned and manage any on-the-ground adjustments.
- Oversee the management of vendors, orders, and logistics to ensure that all design elements (furniture, decor, lighting, etc.) are sourced, delivered, and installed as planned.
- New Business Development & Proposal Leadership
- Lead the ideation and creation of new business proposals, working alongside the Creative Director to develop strategic "Big Idea" concepts for potential clients.
- Develop and present proposal outlines, mood boards, and visual concepts that communicate the creative vision and align with client expectations and organizational goals.
- Collaborate in the development of creative pitch presentations and strategies for new business opportunities, ensuring they reflect the company's innovative approach to event design.
