About the Role:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing the flow of work as assigned, along with supervising other maintenance technicians. Duties may involve insulating; machining; carpentry; inspecting and repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing new equipment; and updating the facility infrastructure as required along with other duties associated with the operation of an automated 575k sq. ft. fulfillment center.
A successful Maintenance Manager is a motivational leader, responsible for engaging their team and business partners to achieve the highest levels of performance, safety, quality, and attendance.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Distribution Center Operations and will be on-site in our Belton, MO facility.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Track and assign daily maintenance and facility preventative maintenance inspections and repairs
- Investigate and dispatch actions to correct all problem calls for facility and distribution equipment -- to include, but not limited to, Hytrol conveyance, PLCs, Cognex Scanners, automatic seal applicators, print and apply printers
- Perform scheduled and daily maintenance on distribution equipment such as forklifts, material handling equipment, conveyors, conveyor support equipment etc., to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings is maintained
- Skilled to properly handle distribution equipment regarding; OSHA and safety requirements, hazardous materials, follow company policies and emergency procedures
- Prepare all department documentation such as, but not limited to, work logs, equipment check sheets, preventive maintenance documentation, etc.
- Responsible for communicating major problems, concerns, and inoperable equipment information to the Senior Director of Operations, facility partners, and vendors
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED. Associates Degree or completion of an approved apprentice program in industrial maintenance, automated manufacturing technology, HVAC, or equivalent is highly desired
- 5-7 years of industrial maintenance experience, performing mechanical and electrical repairs in an industrial environment, specifically in an automated environment using and managing the use of a MMS
- 2 years of experience as a supervisory lead mechanic with responsibilities of directly leading 5-8 other mechanics
- Proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform mechanical and preventive maintenance on buildings, HVAC, and material handling equipment, e.g., conveyor systems, forklifts, order pickers, and turret trucks, pallet racking, etc.
- PLC / WCS programming and troubleshooting experience
- Basic PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google products
- Ability to work on-call to support the operational needs of the business
- 5 years of supervisory or management experience
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree
- Experience using Auto CAD
- Exposure to warehousing equipment hazards and varying temperatures in Fulfillment Centers
- Flexibility to travel to various fulfillment centers, vendor locations, and corporate office
- Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers while performing the duties of this job
- Moderate to heavy lifting required
