Qualifications:
- US Citizen
- At least 2 years of experience in a professional work environment.
- Knowledge and practical application of purchasing, inventory control and production scheduling standard concepts, practices and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of government contracts in a manufacturing and/or engineering setting a plus
- Demonstrated skill at tracking parts and tasks, building relationships with vendors, articulating Iris needs and desires, and negotiating favorable terms.
- Able to maintain detailed, accurate and complete procurement records.
- Have a strong sense of service for both internal and external customers.
- Expert skills with Microsoft Excel, experience with ERP System.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field a plus
Key Results:
- Receive, review and process purchase orders in a timely, efficient manner with 100% accuracy.
- Develop a professional and friendly rapport with vendors to ensure best pricing and terms, on-time delivery and with 100% accuracy.
- Monitor physical inventory to ensure quantities are 100% match with ERP System. Ensure materials storage compliance per government, program, and part requirements is met 100% of the time.
- Review and update supplier database for 100% accuracy per QMS process at least quarterly.
- Ensure quality standards are met 100% of the time.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Receive and review purchase requests, prepares purchase orders.
- Purchase and negotiate materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors; coordinates activities involved with purchasing products and services within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Maintain QMS Supplier database; evaluate vendors, vendor quotes, and services; classify vendors and determine the most desirable suppliers; ensure that selected vendors satisfy program requirements
- Ensure the maintenance of procurement records in accordance with company policies, procedures, and AS9100 processes.
- Coordinate GIDEP information with Iris.
- Manage program inventory, including proper labeling, storage, and tracking per applicable processes.
- Assign and manage Iris part numbers for purchased parts for inventory. Ensure accuracy and consistency with Iris part numbering between Engineering and ERP System.
- Maintain information in ERP System—creating builds and inventory transactions
- Challenge Iris’ production paradigm; learn and stay abreast of efficiency programs such as Lean Manufacturing and Production Planning; be aware of modern thinking in these areas.
- Monitor inventories, tracks progress of production, and reviews factors which affect schedules.
- Maintains a clean, safe and organized parts storage room that efficiently and effectively serves customers, product development and production
