Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant or LPN to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring that patients receive high-quality care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinic environment.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, and drawing blood.
- Assist in diagnostic procedures including sonography and gastric lavage as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage follow-up communications.
- Document patient information accurately using electronic health record systems such as Epic.
- Provide education to patients regarding their health conditions and treatment plans.
- Support critical care procedures when necessary, including knowledge of ICD-9 coding for billing purposes.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical role is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology and primary care practices is essential.
- Familiarity with critical care protocols and procedures is a plus.
- Experience with medical software systems, particularly Epic, is advantageous.
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining professionalism at all times.
