Position Summary
The Production Assistant supports the Assistant Plant Manager and production team by performing administrative, clerical, and operational tasks to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of daily operations. This position requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate and coordinate across various teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Production Support:
- Perform quality checks and inspections at the end of each production shift, ensuring accuracy and adherence to product quality specifications and safety standards.
- Collect and record production data, including rates, uptime, yields, inventory levels, raw materials, and quality control procedures.
- Conduct weekly inventory counts and report levels of raw materials and finished products.
- Communicate production updates and issues to the Assistant Plant Manager regularly.
Administrative Tasks:
- Organize and schedule employee training sessions, safety meetings, and company meetings.
- Facilitate meetings, set up conference/video calls, and distribute meeting notes.
- Monitor and control inventory of production items, including PPE, chemicals, packaging materials, and cleaning tools.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders to address facility-related issues and ensure efficient operations.
Project Coordination:
- Asist in prioritising, planning, scheduling, and managing production activities to meet manufacturing objectives on time and within budget.
- Communicate with vendors, contractors, and customers to coordinate projects, production, and shipping activities.
Working Conditions
Interpersonal Relationships:
- Frequent interaction with supervisors, operators, mechanics, and other team members.
- Communication mostly conducted in-person.
Physical Environment:
- Work indoors and outdoors with exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals within OSHA-accepted levels.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts.
- Occasional travel between plants may be required.
Standards of Performance
- Demonstrate attention to detail and prioritize safety in all tasks.
- Follow company and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate proactively and effectively with team members and management.
- Maintain professionalism and ethical behavior in all interactions.
- Report to work on time and adhere to assigned schedules.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong organisational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Practical and common-sense problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and follow verbal and written instructions.Preventive and predictive maintenance experience is a plus.
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
