Utah Fertility Center's Pleasant Grove location is hiring a full-time Andrology Technician to join our team! This is an opportunity to work in the innovative and exciting field of fertility and be a part of an extraordinary and committed staff.
Must be available to work in a weekend/holiday rotation with 3 other andrology technicians.
The Andrologist’s role is to perform all aspects of the andrology testing and procedures, including but not limited to:
- Semen Analysis, to diagnose male fertility.
- IUI and IVF sample preparations.
- Sperm freezing, including proper labeling, and specimen storage.
- Receiving donor/autologous sperm from outside sperm banks or clinics.
- Following all laboratory protocols, while using aseptic techniques.
- Performing safe specimen handling and following safety guidelines for biohazardous, infectious, and toxic substances.
- Performing daily quality control on equipment and procedures.
- Demonstrate the ability to be detail-oriented and pay attention to details.
- Participate in a weekend and holiday rotating schedule.
Administrative:
- Follow requisitions and orders. Completing test reports and records in a timely manner.
- Maintains lab records, reports, and files.
- Perform various office functions including photocopying, typing, faxing, and filing reports.
- Order and stock lab supplies on an ongoing basis.
- Communicates with clinical personnel, laboratory staff, patients, and outside resources to ensure high-quality patient care and customer service.
- Prepares periodic reports, enters data, and creates other documents as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a biological science, chemistry, microbiology, or clinical laboratory science. Must meet CLIA education requirements for High Complexity Testing personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Six months to one year of IVF laboratory experience (or) one year of clinical laboratory experience
Physical Requirements:
Good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
