IMMEDIATE OPENING
Summary: Collaborate and support general maintenance at Ivymount, including the inspection of equipment, performance of basic repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure campus safety. This position supports the Director in project management, record maintenance, vendor and outside service provider oversight.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and perform building maintenance, performing minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs (e.g., repairing access doors and refrigerator temperature, changing light bulbs, painting offices and classrooms, cleaning gutters, power wash the building, etc.)
- Oversee and perform preventative maintenance on building equipment monthly
- Coordinate and supervise building vendor repairs and inspections (e.g., playground inspection)
- Manage schedule and assigned tasks of porters/contractors
- Oversee and perform floor maintenance (e.g., buffing, waxing, stripping)
- Serve as point of contact for orders and provide delivery support
- Maintain building services records related to compliance (e.g., completed inspections, inventory and receivables)
- Complete data entry related to invoicing of building-related services
- Research and recommend solutions to building-trade related problems
- Serve as Building Services liaison to the School for events planning and set-up (e.g., setting up tables and chairs for program meetings)
- Ensure classrooms and offices have the required emergency preparedness supplies
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree/certification in building maintenance services, High School Diploma (minimum)
- 5 years’ experience in building-related services
- Properly use maintenance tools (e.g., cordless drill, Jigsaw, hand tools), machinery (e.g., table saw, band saw, circular saw) and floor maintenance equipment
- Experience with furniture assembly
- Experience with the building trade (e.g., carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, plumbing, electric, appliances and HVAC)
- Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan tasks efficiently
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal communication and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment or independently
- Ability to transport or move up to 50 lbs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including basic Excel data entry and maintenance service ticketing system
- Valid Maryland Driver’s License
- Basic building mechanical knowledge and experience preferred
- Experience in operating/riding a lift up to 20’ high preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
