Are you looking for an accounting/finance position to accelerate your skills? We are adding to our finance team.
We are searching for a Payroll Specialist who is responsible for helping assist other members of our Accounting Department with all aspects of weekly payroll processing.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to all employment verifications
- Complete requests for information from unions
- Maintain organized up-to-date payroll files and documentation, ensuring compliance with recordkeeping and audit requirements.
- Respond to employee questions and information requests as it relates to Payroll.
- Lead support to travelling employees in entering and approving timecards into payroll system
- Serves as a primary back-up to Sr. Payroll Specialist payroll processing duties
- Schedule tax payments, child support payments, and monthly fringe payments
- Responsible for weekly and salary payroll processing
- Provide timely and accurate response to all unemployment wage audits
- Assist with W2 preparation and year end reconciliation
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years’ experience working in a payroll or related financial roles preferred
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, on computers and other electronic devices
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
