What are the responsibilities and job description for the PSA/GROOVER Technician position at J.H. RHODES?
JH Rhodes Company, a polishing pad manufacturer with over 120 years of polishing expertise. We are committed to supporting the leading-edge capabilities of our customers. We are seeking PSA/Groover positions to join our growing team. The successful candidates will learn the process to apply pressure sensitive adhesive and grooving of pad materials to customer orders.
To be able to perform this function successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Setup and adjust various PSA machines and apply adhesive as requested on the customer’s order to pad materials following standard procedures in work instructions
- Operate and make adjustments to the CNC grooving machines and groove pad material as requested on the customer’s order following standard procedures in work instructions
- Trim and inspect pads for the operations performed
- Maintain paperwork and perform SPC
- Change tools and perform minor maintenance on the equipment
- Package orders after PSA and/or grooving is applied
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Assist with inventory verifications
- Cross-train in other areas of the factory to provide support where needed
- Other tasks as assigned by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

- Minimum of high school level of knowledge of several subjects including math in order to express complex thoughts clearly in writing, perform mathematical calculations, and keep complex records
- Ability to communicate effectively with other people
- Some analytical ability is required in order to gather and interpret data in situations where the problems are somewhat complex
- Basic computer knowledge
- Regular attendance
- Ability to operate machinery
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
