Production Lead

Summary:
This position will support the Print Supervisor in managing the day-to-day activities of the Print Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Monitor the Print Department and staff workflow.

• Assist in the management and development of staff members.
• Train personnel in all aspects of their roles.
• Identify high performers for promotion and further training.
• Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training instructions for each role in the Print Department.
• Process and record all training activities/assessments, ensuring records are current.
• Oversee print, cooper rack, and ink room staff to ensure performance aligns with department standards and schedules.
• Ensure Color Operators regularly check quality, match color standards, and manage ink levels properly.
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is used correctly.
• Always maintain good housekeeping standards.
• Monitor machine output to ensure scheduled quantities are achieved.
• Collaborate with management and maintenance to ensure proper machine upkeep.
• Assist and fill in as needed to ensure efficient operations in the Print Department.
• Hang product on the Print Viewing wall, inspect for quality, and make recommendations. Resolve quality issues with the Print Supervisor, Production Manager, or Quality Manager.
• Develop a strong understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and report findings and anomalies.

Inventory and Equipment Control:

• Ensure the maintenance of Print Cylinders.
• Monitor supply levels, ensuring adequate stock of backup doctor blades, impression rollers, rubber rollers, ink, vinyl, wipes, and tape.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills:

• Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills
• Proficiency in computer applications (Outlook, Excel)
• Excellent color acuity
• Strong interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude

Education/Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Gravure Printing environment

Other - Testing:

• Pass the Color Matcher test with a score of 90%
• Color Discrepancy test with a score of 100%
• Hue test with a score of 16 or less

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.19 - $26.78 per hour
