We are seeking a detail oriented and efficient Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team in a solar manufacturing company. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for the accurate and timely receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming materials, supplies and equipment essential for our manufacturing processes. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the smooth operation of our supply chain and production activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Receipt and Inspection:
- Receive incoming shipments of materials and supplies
- Inspect shipments for accuracy, damage and compliance with purchase orders
- Document discrepancies or damaged items and communicate with suppliers and internal departments
Inventory Management:
- Ensure materials are properly labeled and stored in designated areas
- Maintain accurate records of received goods in inventory management systems
- Assist in cycle counting and inventory audits
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Verify and process shipping documents such as packing slips, bills of lading, and invoices
- Update and maintain receiving logs and databases
- Prepare and submit reports on inventory levels, shortages, and delivery issues
Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of materials
- Coordinate with shipping and logistics providers as needed
- Respond promptly to inquiries regarding received goods and materials
Compliance and Safety:
- Follow company policies, procedures, and safety protocols
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Adhere to quality standards to support solar manufacturing production goals
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus
- Proven experience in a receiving, shipping, or inventory control role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and advanced computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, ERP software)
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Physical ability to lift and move materials (25 -50 lbs) and experience operating warehouse equipment
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of solar manufacturing processes and materials
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
