As a Quality Technician II, you will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Quality Engineering teams to improve quality performance and ensure compliance with quality standards. You will perform measurement, inspection, and validation tasks, while also training personnel on quality procedures and analyzing quality data to drive continuous improvement.
What will you do?
- Perform inspections and tests: Conduct quality control tests on products, materials, and components at various production stages to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Analyze data: Review and analyze inspection results, identifying deviations and recommending improvements or modifications.
- Support quality processes: Ensure inspection techniques, quality plans, and procedures align with standards and customer requirements.
- Train personnel: Train inspectors on policies, inspection methods, gauge techniques, and quality plans.
- Monitor inspector performance: Oversee inspectors and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Maintain calibration: Ensure gauges are within calibration cycles, properly used, and stored; arrange for repairs when needed.
- Conduct audits: Perform product and process audits, review production records for compliance, and conduct start-ups per inspection criteria.
- Participate in validations: Support mold qualifications, process capability studies, and design of experiments.
- Manage quality records: Maintain accurate quality records, logs, batch history records (BHR), and certificates of compliance/analysis.
- Troubleshoot defects: Identify and resolve recurring quality issues, recommending corrective actions.
- Support safety and quality programs: Ensure adherence to company safety, quality programs, and industry standards.
- Additional duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned based on business needs.
Education:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 2-4 years of inspection experience in injection molding, metrology, machine shop operations, or a similar industry/environment.
- Language skills: Ability to read and write English and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Math skills: Ability to perform advanced mathematical computations.
- Technical skills:
- Knowledge of blueprints, measuring/test equipment, and quality calibration processes.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) software, process control charts, and process capability studies.
- Familiarity with inspection techniques, Predisy, and measurement tools.
- Computer proficiency: Competence in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and quality software systems.
- Attention to detail: Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Problem-solving: Ability to troubleshoot recurring defects and implement corrective actions.
