What are the responsibilities and job description for the Apprentice Technician position at Jaguar Land Rover Newport Beach?
Jaguar Land Rover Newport Beach is looking to add Service Technician Apprentices to our rapidly growing team!
The Technician Apprentice will serve as a trainee for an assigned Master Technicians and is responsible for learning the proper diagnosis and repair of customer and dealership vehicles and the completion of assigned repair orders in an effective and competent manner according to manufacturer standards.
Compensation: $18-$25/hour
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Communicate with service advisors and technicians clearly and properly articulating customer concerns needed to be addressed.
- Learn how to properly repair vehicles through formal training sessions and hands-on work tasks supervised by auto technicians.
- Performs other duties as requested & assigned to assure smooth functioning of service department.
- Perform simple automotive repairs, following multi-point inspection forms, test batteries.
- Perform light custodial tasks to keep workshop clean and presentable.
- Delivers customer vehicles to service stalls as requested by technicians.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures and immediately report all accidents to a manager or supervisor and Human Resources.
- Maintain current awareness of the requirements of state and federal laws dealing with automobile repairs and consumer protection.
- Adhere to work schedule and arrive at work before your scheduled start time and be at your workstation productively engaged by the scheduled time.
- Safeguard customer and Dealer information per established policy.
- Complies with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety and personal protection equipment as required.
- Operating dealership-owned and customer-owned vehicles safely.
- Using and maintaining expensive tools and equipment.
- Handling hazardous materials, such as motor oil, coolant, and cleaning agents, in compliance with safety regulations.
- Accessing restricted or secure areas of the dealership.
- Adhere to established dress code policy.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Desire to learn a skilled trade.
- High school diploma or tech school graduate.
- Automotive repair experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge and ability to use computers, mobile devices, and related technology efficiently.
- Self -motivated, positive attitude, with a customer focused vision.
