Job Title: Supervisor, Quality Control
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $82,000.00-$102,000.00
Summary
The Supervisor, Quality Control, leads the implementation and execution of quality control programs to ensure consistent production and compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role encompasses strategic planning, supervision, and hands-on leadership to maintain high-quality standards, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement. The Supervisor collaborates with cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence while managing inspection staff and fostering a culture of quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive quality control programs to ensure the reliability, safety, and conformity of products to specifications and industry standards.
- Analyze statistical data and product specifications to establish and maintain quality benchmarks.
Operational Leadership:
- Lead inspection and testing activities, including receiving, in-process, and final product inspections, ensuring compliance with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards.
- Direct quality audits (internal, external, and supplier) and manage findings through the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process.
- Oversee non-conformance reporting and coordinate root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
Training and Development:
- Organize and deliver training programs for quality team members, emphasizing advanced quality techniques, tools, and compliance standards.
- Assess and improve team competency in inspection tools, software (e.g., CMM, CAD platforms), and advanced quality systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to align quality objectives with operational processes.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory bodies, customers, and third-party auditors during inspections and audits.
Customer Support:
- Investigate customer complaints related to quality, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to ensure customer satisfaction.
Continuous Improvement:
- Initiate and lead projects to optimize inspection methods, reduce waste, and improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor quality metrics and deliver reports to senior management, providing actionable insights.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises employees in the Quality Control Department, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and legal requirements.

- Resolving employee conflicts and fostering teamwork.
- Ensuring adherence to safety and quality protocols.
Qualifications
- To perform this role effectively, an individual must demonstrate the following competencies:
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a manufacturing or aerospace quality control environment.
- Advanced certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt, ASQ Quality Manager, or equivalent preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in quality inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges) and software (e.g., CMM, Net-Inspect).
- Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
- Experience with statistical analysis, process improvement methodologies, and quality systems management.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and communication abilities.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- High customer orientation and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
Physical Demands

Work Environment
