Day Camp Counselor
Responsibilities
- Properly monitor campers at all times in a safe and efficient manner
- Actively participate in all programs areas as assigned
- Be a role model to campers in your attitude and behavior by maintaining a positive and upbeat manner
- Set a good example to campers and others in regarding to general camp procedures and practices, including sanitation, schedules, and sportsmanship
- Represent the camp in a positive and professional manner when interacting with parents or others
- Adhere to company’s policy reporting tips
- Provide timely, courteous, and professional service to all guests
- Follow all health and safety standards, security guidelines, policies, and initiatives
- All other duties as may be assigned
Requirements
- Ability to relate to youth and adults in a positive manner, including understanding of the development needs of youth
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity
- Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance to maintain constant supervision of campers.
- Must be able to work the entire season (8 weeks), without any vacation.
- Must report ALL tips via timeclock as per company policy
- First Aid Certificate
- Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
Education & Experience
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (we accept high school juniors and seniors)
Experience: Previous youth camp experience (including as a participant)
Resort / National Park experience
Hourly rate of pay $13.75 plus tips (all tips are required to be reported per IRS regulations)
