SUMMARY:

The Assistant Controller is responsible for business unit accounting duties for the JDH - Idaho region, including multiple dairy feed manufacturing/processing facilities with 50 employees and P&L business unit autonomy.

Perform business unit accounting duties including:

• Inventory analysis and reconciliation
• Month-end journal entries
• Plant cost accounting
• Sales margin analysis
• Operating expense analysis
• Mark-to-market accounting
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting or related field required.
• Prefer one to three years of related work experience in the agriculture industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of mark to market accounting, grain contracts, and GAAP/IFRS required.
• Experience with month end closing and reconciliation.
• Understanding of sales margin, commodity pricing and operating expense analysis.
• High level of Excel proficiency required.
• Knowledge of Agris preferred.
