CNC Programmer Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming and setting up CNC machines to produce precision parts and components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, and the ability to work with various CNC equipment. The CNC Programmer will play a crucial role in ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. We work Monday-Thursday 6am-4pm, Friday 6am-2pm, and most Saturdays 6am-12pm. Pay is 25 an hour, willing to negotiate on pay.
Duties
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for various machining operations, including lathe and milling processes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, writing program (no Master-cam) long hand writing based on drawings, putting in tools and create accurate machining instructions.
- Perform setups on CNC machines.
- Touching off tools.
- Conduct regular inspections of machined parts using tools such as micrometers and calipers to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Troubleshoot issues related to machining processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Experience
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical drawings is essential.
- Experience with CNC programming languages (G-code/M-code) is required.
- Knowledge of lathe operations and mill operations.
- Strong mathematical skills for precise calculations related to machining processes.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or similar role is highly desirable.
