Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Aviation Parts Manager to oversee our parts department. The Aviation Parts Manager is responsible for the procurement, storage, and distribution of aircraft parts, ensuring proper inventory levels, compliance with FAA regulations, and timely delivery of parts to maintenance operations, while prioritizing safety and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
- Managing aircraft parts inventory, including tracking stock levels, identifying critical parts, and forecasting future needs.
- Implementing inventory control systems to optimize stock rotation and prevent stockouts.
- Performing regular inventory audits to maintain accuracy of stock records.
Purchasing and Procurement:
- Sourcing and negotiating with aircraft parts suppliers to secure the best pricing and delivery terms.
- Placing purchase orders for required aircraft parts, ensuring compliance with quality standards and vendor approvals.
- Managing vendor relationships and resolving any issues related to deliveries or part quality.
Compliance and Regulations:
- Adhering to FAA regulations regarding sourcing, documentation, storage and disposal procedures.
- Ensuring all parts meet required certifications and quality standards.
- Maintaining accurate documentation for part traceability and compliance records.
Logistics and Distribution:
- Processing parts orders from maintenance teams, accurately identifying, ordering and picking required parts.
- Coordinating the timely shipment of parts to aircraft maintenance locations.
- Managing the returns process for defective or unusable parts and core returns.
Cost Management:
- Analyzing inventory costs, identifying potential cost savings through vendor negotiations or optimizing stock levels.
- Monitoring budget for parts procurement and managing expenses within allocated limits.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to to be certified in handling, shipping and receiving hazardous materials.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and computer applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with maintenance teams and vendors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to manage complex logistics issues.
- Ability to regularly lift/move objects weighing 10 lbs to 50 lbs.
- Experience in aviation maintenance or parts management is preferred
