Plant Laborers / Groundmen are responsible for the safe, proper and efficient completion of assigned duties within company policy. Positions are full-time and will be filled with someone who is dependable, has the ability to follow orders and is teachable. This is a safety sensitive position. Jim Smith Contracting is a drug free workplace and we have a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
Key Responsibilities :
- Keep the plant area clean with firehose and Skid Steer
- Ability to run Skid Steer proficiently
- Basic mechanical skills
- Constant monitoring of the plant grounds during production
- General knowledge of conveyors and mechanics
- Perform routine and required maintenance
- Grease the plant weekly
- Occasionally climb to the top of the silos to assist in performing maintenance
- Must be able to arrive early and stay late as well as work Saturday and occasional night shifts
