Position Outline
Provide leadership that prioritizes safety and instills it as the cultural foundation of your Lay Flat Crews. Works closely with planning and land to instill lay flat routes are accurate, efficient, and comply with landowner's agreements. Schedule trucking to deliver and stage hose in accordance with upcoming project timelines, easements, and permits. Manage your customer site(s) so that the crew(s) logically sequence tasks in the most efficient, productive manner. Work to drive growth by providing your customer the best dollar value while collaborating with them to develop realistic project objectives, plans and schedules. Earn their respect and that of your subordinates through hard work, leading by example, delegating responsibility and trust when appropriate, and by displaying integrity in all you do. Complete all administrative tasks in a timely fashion - JSAs daily, job tickets daily, labor hours daily, etc. to ensure accuracy and timeliness of billing. Guide your team to comply with customer needs and local, state and federal laws, as well as company and customer policy.
Duties and responsibilities
Project performance:
- Lead HSE performance and cultural initiatives
- Schedule and track crew member training (archive record of their certifications via HSE mgr)
- Always be respectful of your crew members. Your role is LEADERSHIP not OWNERSHIP.
- Take care of your people - with training, mentorship, judgement and, when appropriate, promotion or remediation
- Carefully schedule your team
- This schedule should be efficient but also realistic and safe for the task at hand
- Communicate your guidance clearly on how to perform/sequence tasks and on objectives (what defines job completion)
- Your project plan should be openly discussed to make sure it is feasible and nothing noteworthy is overlooked
- Encourage questions to make sure team members understand expectations and provide recommendations for your consideration
- Efficiently schedule and utilize resources to include:
- Equipment (both owned and rental)
- This includes calling off equipment quickly when no longer needed and calculating best dollar value for daily or weekly rentals for consecutive projects, and:
- Coordinating resource use with other company supervisors, as appropriate
- Maintenance - schedule or perform as appropriate and, along with safety, should include a daily inspection of basics (fluid levels, etc.)
- Consumables - hardware, pumps, hose/pipe, fittings, underlayment, etc.
- Equipment (both owned and rental)
- Work with general manager to develop realistic metrics for quality and performance
Administration:
- Payroll - Document labor hours and turn into admin daily
- Manage & control to safe, sustainable level for your crewmembers
- JSAs - Generate or delegate daily for each location/customer
- Review for quality and completeness and update as appropriate throughout project
- Collect and send to HSE rep for historical record weekly
- Report all incidents immediately to Supervisor and HSE rep
Knowledge base items:
- Understand water transfer such that you can design jobs while accounting for:
- Rigid inventory control of valves, fittings, assembly tools, pumps & hoses, for assembly as well as de-mob
- Scheduling crew size and shift changes
- Elevation changes and water delivery rates that will affect type, number and placement of pumps
- Temperature & environmental issues that dictate handling (pigging & heating) requirements
- Disciplined maintenance of equipment, fittings and materials
- Detailed, timely paperwork for JSAs, timesheets, job tickets, etc.
Ability to pass background and drug and alcohol tests.
Salary : $27 - $35
