The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for preparing GAAP-compliant financial reports and operating budgets for our affordable housing rental properties. Serving as the primary liaison with the audit team and limited partners or syndicators, this role will oversee monthly and annual financial reporting. Additionally, the Senior Financial Accountant will support the Financial Accounting Manager and AVP of Finance with corporate accounting tasks and ad hoc analyses as needed.

Additionally, the Senior Financial Accountant will support the Financial Accounting Manager and AVP of Finance with corporate accounting tasks and ad hoc analyses as needed.

- Manage the monthly general ledger closing process, including preparing adjusting journal entries and updating workpapers for areas such as fixed assets, depreciation, insurance expenses, and other accruals.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts for all partnerships and process reimbursements.
- Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations.
- Develop annual operating budgets and perform monthly variance analyses.
- Review outstanding tenant accounts and conduct bad debt analyses.
- Prepare quarterly (or monthly) limited partner reports for each tax credit project.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year institution.
- MBA is a plus.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in property management and/or non-profit accounting.
