As an employee of JOH, this position is responsible for all goals, objectives and policies that the client may establish in accordance with JOH’s policies and procedures. The Director, Fresh in our Minneapolis, MN office should develop positive working relationships, convey a willingness to help the clients, customers and JOH associates, and project a professional image at all times.
Responsibilities Include:
Ø Oversee the department and supervise associates.
Ø Deliver mutually agreed upon financial goals, sales goals of our clients’ business for JOH.
Ø Responsible for all aspects and details of the client’s business.
Ø Work closely with sales, category management, and marketing teams in the creation and administration of promotional calendars/planners.
Ø Develop and maintain a solid working relationship with all Associates.
Ø Communicate with client and keep client informed of all key elements to include competitive information and activity, category review dates, business status updates, trade functions, personnel changes, etc.
Ø Develop promotional program customized to the specific retailer, wholesaler.
Ø Manage client’s promotional funds and track expenditures to ensure desired results are achieved.
Ø Provide client with summary of results achieved on each promotion with and interim reports on status of items presented. (Post Performance Analysis)
Ø Establish realistic budget objectives with the client.
Ø Assist Customer Managers in preparing presentations on behalf of clients/customers.
Ø Direct involvement in presentations of new products and new lines.
Ø Create and deliver effective sales presentations .
Ø Set customer appointments for client market visits including retail store checks.
Ø Conduct formal business reviews as required by client and JOH.
Ø Ensure that client’s products receive the appropriate attention and sales effort of entire organization.
Ø Establish commission projections.
Ø Communicate to JOH management all pertinent information regarding manufacturer’s business. (Monthly Management Report)
Ø Participate in functions and events as directed by JOH and client which may include but not limited to Trade Shows, Broker Advisory Committee, Conventions, Dinners, Trade Events and Sales Meetings.
Ø Other duties as assigned
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES REQUIRED
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ø Ability to write detailed correspondence
Ø Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ø Ability to read and interpret documents such as client instruction manuals, and JOH company procedure manuals
Mathematical Skills
Ø Must have knowledge of basic mathematical concepts
§ Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
§ Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages
Ø Ability to use calculator to perform simple functions
Reasoning Ability
Ø Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Ø Ability to review and interpret syndicated data (i.e., Circana, Nielsen)
Technical Skills
Ø A solid understanding of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. The ability to access and utilize internal databases and in-house category analysis software.
PERFORMANCE AND/OR EDUCATION PREREQUISITES
Ø Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Ø Must have CPG Experience
Ø Supervisory experience
Ø Experience with Circana & Nielsen syndicated data
Ø Experience in the brokerage industry helpful, but not necessary
