What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Technician position at John Staurulakis (JSI)?
To support our strategic expansion, we are now seeking several talented CAD Technicians who possess a genuine interest in the opportunity to learn how to use cutting-edge and proprietary technology to serve our clients better as well as for personal career advancement purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Using company standards to interpret and draw various types of engineering documents such as design maps, staking sheets, schematics, detail drawings, etc.
- Working at a computer station all day, clearly viewing the monitor while using fine hand manipulation of a mouse to draw various engineering drawings.
- Use of various types of printers/plotters (loading paper and changing toner).
- Must be able to lift and carry 10 lbs.
- Must be able to operate various binding machines which require operating hand and foot controls.
Qualifications, Education and/or Experience
- Preferred experience with AutoCAD 3D and associated GIS toolsets that are utilized in mapping telecommunications outside plant networks.
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS and shapefile creation/manipulation.
- Experience with preparing CAD documentation for telecommunication service providers is preferred.
- Requires good oral and written communication skills.
- Desire and ability to work on technical projects, utilizing software, advanced mathematics, and other technical computer skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work on multiple projects.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred.
