Job Title: Sales and Service Technician 

Salary Range: $25-$30 an hour

Position Overview: This position is responsible for efficiently performing various types of roofing installations utilizing safe work practices as well as overall work performance, quality, and job site safety of crew members. Additionally, the Sales and Service Technician is responsible for accessing client needs, following up on sales leads and meeting assigned sales goals.  

 

Essential Job Functions:

Service

  • Coordinate and communicate schedule adjustments to customers and management
  • Guide, mentor, and manage service technicians on assignments and expectations
  • Clean, maintain, and stock assigned work truck 
  • Ensure necessary materials are kept stocked in the warehouse 
  • Organize and schedule with multiple clients and job scopes
  • Communicate updates and status directly with sales and management staff
  • Clock hours for service jobs in builder trend
  • Complete work orders and submit them upon completion to submit for payment

Sales

  • Assess potential customers’ roofing needs in a professional manner
  • Follow up on sales leads in a timely fashion and document the quality of the lead
  • Provide well documented consultation and approved proposals to clients using sales tools while following the JR and Co., Inc. sales process
  • Meet sales goals established by company management
  • Process complete pre-estimate information for estimating
  • Negotiate contracts with favorable margins and terms within company guidelines
  • Track all sales activities in CRM database in an accurate and timely manner 
  • Submit complete job files to assigned team members (Job files include the signed contract, specific instructions, roof drawings, and all other documents necessary for file set up) 
  • Serve as a liaison to clients throughout completion of construction project
  • Deliver closeout package to clients with applicable warranty information and RTM proposal
  • Attend tradeshows, networking, and marketing functions as needed to obtain leads and sales

 

Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • Vast knowledge of roofing applications, systems, and repair methods.
  • Valid Driver’s License (MO Class E or equivalent) 
  • Deadline orientated
  • OSHA 10 Certified
  • Must have excellent customer relations skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal need for direction and oversight
  • Must be able to obtain security clearance on military job sites
  • Demonstrated time-management and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented

Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-4 years of experience in roofing 
  • Experience working with metal roofing, coping, and the above, listed materials
  • 1-2 years of sales experience

 

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Pass initial drug test and participate in random drug test program
  • Willing to travel
  • Ability to perform elevated work (work on rooftops, heights)
  • Frequently lift and carry 50lbs or greater
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, walking 
  • Outdoor environment in all types of weather (8 hours per day)
  • Overtime and weekend work
