Synopsis
JSM Woodworks is seeking an individual to fill a CNC Operator position. This individual will be responsible for the operation of all panel processing CNC equipment (routers, machining centers, saws, edgebanders) as well as conventional processing tools (table saws, crosscut saws, hand routers, contour edgebanders). This individual will be expected to quickly adapt to JSM’s manufacturing processes / standards and become proficient in the operation of the equipment.
Responsibilities
- Setup and operate both CNC and conventional equipment
- Constantly monitor dimensions to ensure conformance to specifications
- Perform equipment maintenance and various organizing and cleaning activities
- Make judgment calls on subjective quality standards
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience in Woodworking/Manufacturing industry
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with CNC equipment
- Knowledge of materials (composite wood panels, laminates and veneers, solid wood, and acrylics)
- Experience in the wood product manufacturing industry, specifically furniture, casegoods, and store fixtures
- Comprehensive knowledge of wood fabrication concepts and methods
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude

- High attention to detail and creative problem solving skills
- Ability to read, understand and interpret instructions
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Highly efficient time management skills
- Use of metric system
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist and reach within hands and arm’s length for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and/or move 50 or more pounds

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
