Human Resources Consultant
Summary/Objective
The human resource consultant is responsible for providing contracted HR services to businesses that meet their specific goals, therefore the duties will vary from client to client.
Essential Functions

1. Assists clients in integrating effective HR processes, programs and practices into their daily operations.
2. Performs internal reviews and audit of current systems and policies.
3. Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations for the contracted services.
4. Provides recommendations to resolution of daily HR issues.
5. Provides consultation and guidance to client's management and organizational partners in the interpretation of human resource management policies, procedures, programs and application of related government laws and regulations.
6. Assist with HR related projects to include, but not limited to, job descriptions, handbooks, policy development
7. Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
10-15% travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree preferably and three to five years of HR experience or equivalent work experience
2. Must be extremely organized with exceptional written and oral communication
3. Must possess exceptional computer, communication, analytical and comprehension skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Web based data systems
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
HR Certification is highly desirable
