Job Purpose
JVM Solutions is hiring Dental Assistants to support the Mobilization Force Generation Installation (MFGI) Soldier Readiness Processing Center at Fort Bliss, TX.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist dentist in many aspects of direct patient care.
- Comply with all MTF productivity standards and maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.
- Demonstrate proper infection control procedures in setting up and cleaning equipment and instruments.
- Perform radiological exams/imaging ensuring that images are characterized by diagnostic quality, accurately oriented, and properly exposed in a timely manner.
- Provides accurate and understandable instructions to patients reporting any problems to the dentist.
- Assists dentist in charging findings and treatment plans in patient records.
- Comply with all health requirements, immunizations, and vaccinations.
- Complete all DoD, DHA, and Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) -specified training requirements.
- Personally record hours worked in the Defense Medical Human Resources System - internet (DMHRSi) system, or other system, as required by the MTF.
Qualifications
- All training must have included a course in radiation physics; radiation biology; radiation health, safety, and protection; X-ray films and radiographic film quality; radiographic techniques; darkroom and processing techniques; film mounting; and digital radiographic processing techniques.
- Certified in radiography to perform dental radiography.
- Minimum of one year of experience within the last three years working as a full-time Dental Assistant.
- BLS through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Along with one of the following:
- Certificate or associate degree as a dental assistant/technician from a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA) and 12 months experience within the preceding 36 months.
- Certification from a military dental technician or dental assistant school and 12 months experience within the preceding 36 months.
- Certification from a Red Cross Dental Assistant course and 12 months experience within the preceding 36 months.
- 36 months experience within the preceding 60 months as a dental assistant in a private practice or a military clinic.
- Membership in good standing with the American Association of Dental Assistants with required continuing education and 12 months experience within the preceding 36 months.
- Graduation from a state accredited program for dental assistants or dental technology within the preceding 12 months.
Other Requirements
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
