POSITION TITLE: DINING SERVICES ASSISTANT
POSITION SUMMARY: Serves residents in a kind, quick, professional manner; takes orders for meals; prepares and serves meals for the dietary department in a safe and appetizing method in compliance with dietary standards, policies and procedures; cleans dining hall and kitchen as outlined, washes dishes and returns food to proper storage; preforms other tasks as directed.
REPORTS TO: DIETARY MANAGER COORDINATOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
1. To create environments where moments of joy, independence, and wellness are the focus each and every day.
2. Takes orders for meals from residents and serves them in a respectful, friendly manner, respecting resident’s preferences.
3. Clears tables after meal time, and resets tables for next meal.
4. Assists with preparation of food items and serves food to residents within scheduled time frame.
5. Cleans and maintains food service areas, including kitchen and dining room.
6. Assists Dietary Supervisor and/or cook in maintaining inventory control.
7. Maintains clean, neat and safe work environment.
8. Assures that resident's diets are followed.
9. Assures resident and or guest meals are accounted for on a daily basis.
10. Reports to Dietary Supervisor any loss, breakage or waste of supplies and equipment.
11. Observes and communicates to Dietary Supervisor problems or potential problems in the dietary department.
12. Observes and reports any unusual changes in resident condition or behavior to administrator or nursing staff, immediately.
13. Maintains current cleaning list and highest standards for kitchen cleanliness.
14. Performs all other duties assigned by the Dietary Supervisor or Administrator.

12. Respects resident rights and adheres to community philosophy of resident care.
13. Organizes and utilizes time appropriately; sets priorities to accomplish assigned tasks.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Must hold a current food handler and CPR First Aid card. Working knowledge of rules and regulations related to health and safety in food preparation. Desire to work with a predominately older population and provide excellent service.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.66 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 28 – 40 per week
