SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
Oversees all activities of workers engaged in the custom-machining of metallic and nonmetallic material.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Significant hands-on manufacturing experience in a precision machining environment.
- Leadership/Management experience managing 25 CNC machines and machinists.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with, communicate with and provide leadership to a diverse workforce.
- Capable of reading blue prints, programming, set-up and operation of several CNC Mills and Lathes.
- Ensure production is initiated with sufficient lead time to meet required deliveries.
- Assign and coordinate resources (employee, material, machines) to maintain part flow through routing operations with minimum wait time
- Review the customer MRP requirements, provide capacity planning input, assign production work consistent with the production plan to assigned resources and monitor the performance of the shop floor towards obtaining the production plan
- Manage employee performance, attendance, overtime and annual review process.
- Actively seek out and implement ways to reduce manufacturing lead time by combining value added steps and/or eliminating non-value added steps with appropriate authorization from the Engineering & Quality departments
- Understand the concept and process of machines Spindle Utilization.
- Understand the Quality System, Configuration Control and Process Control policies, practices, procedures and work rules along with shop floor manufacturing/production systems.
- Experience or developed skills in using MRP systems, Microsoft Excel, Work and other Microsoft tools.
- Proficient at anticipating and resolving internal and external resource challenges encountered during manufacturing & product delivery process.
- Excellent written/verbal communication as well as presentation skills at all levels.
- High energy, motivated individual who thrives in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Work with Quality team on projects such as SPC, MRB meetings, problem solving using 8D and/or
5 Why’s methods, and priority escalations, etc.

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Minimum 5 years experience as Production Manager in machine shop industry or related field.
* Degree in business or engineering or the equivalent experience
* Strong organization skill
SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
20/20 correctable vision; able to safely lift up to 30lbs

Pay: $85,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
