I. POSITION:
1. Develop, promote, and direct all educational programming and activities for the Kansas Association of REALTORS (KAR).
2. Serve as liaison to all Institutes, Societies, Councils, and Chapters.
3. Represent State Association at member board functions when requested by the Board and/or the Chief Executive Officer.
4. Help position KAR as a relevant resource by maintaining a multi-faceted member outreach program, including special events throughout the state, contacting and working directly with brokers and agents on industry-related skill sets, and speaking at brokerage sales meetings and local board events about KAR programs and services.
5. Network nationally and across the state to establish alliances to expand the available resources of the KAR.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop, plan, organize, and direct all educational courses and co-sponsored seminars. Responsible for identifying educational topics, developing course content, selecting instructors, and implementing delivery systems. Course topics will meet established knowledge management criteria and profile of topics.
2. Design, implement, and facilitate comprehensive educational events across Kansas and through multiple delivery methods.
3. Develop, implement, and promote the co-sponsorship program for educational programming with Member Boards and real estate companies.
4. Develop, implement, and maintain speaker and instructor databases and files. Ensure independent contractor status is maintained. Ensure independent contractor instructors are complying with KAR and Real Estate Commissions’ established policies and procedures.
5. Develop, implement, and maintain a member knowledge profile that identifies critical areas of information, knowledge, and expertise that members need to create and maintain profitability in the real estate industry.
6. Research and acquire relevant and quality course materials for the Association home-study program, Keynote online education program, and other alternative delivery models.
7. Research, identify, develop, and implement non-dues revenue-producing programs.
8. Ensure the Pre-license program complies with the Kansas Real Estate Commission with appropriate curriculum and acceptable pass-rates. Develop individual instructor pass-rate reports.
9. Periodically evaluate educational programs, products, and services utilizing the member knowledge profile.
10. Periodically evaluate education delivery methods to ensure modern techniques and technologies are deployed, measure effectiveness and efficiency, identify changes needed, and incorporate those changes.
11. Ensure a variety of educational programs, products, and services are available and relevant to all real estate industry specialties represented by Association membership.
12. Ensure the Kansas Institute complies with the accreditation procedures established by NAR. Prepare and participate in the accreditation process.
13. Ensure education completion certificates for students and completion rosters for the respective Real Estate Commissions are issued within established timelines.
14. Work with the necessary Real Estate Commissions to receive course approval for continuing education credit and ensure renewal of relevant courses.
15. Work directly with the necessary Real Estate Commissions to seek approval of and maintain approval for home-study and LMS programs.
16. Ensure the home-study and LMS programs are administered in compliance with rules and regulations established by the necessary Real Estate Commissions. Write new exam questions and course materials when necessary.
17. Work with the necessary Real Estate Commissions to ensure educational courses held with association meetings are approved for continuing education credit.
18. Attend Real Estate Commission meetings when education-related issues are discussed or considered.
19. Work with marketing team to prepare necessary information for publication and communication in Association-sponsored pieces. Research and utilize alternative methods and work with marketing team to promote Association education programs, products, and services.
20. Work with marketing team to ensure marketing and promotional materials for educational courses, events, programs, and products are compelling, timely, and distributed to maximize participation.
21. Lead on-site monitoring of education courses conducted at Association meetings.
22. Work to expand and offer the LMS educational programs with other associations and companies.
23. Identify, build, and foster business relationships with local boards, brokerages, and related businesses.
24. Coordinate meeting facility/instructor schedules consistent with KAR needs and requirements for the upcoming year.
25. Work with the Senior Director of Association Services to select educational courses, content, delivery, and speakers held along with state meetings.
26. Travel to member boards, brokerage offices, and other locations within the state to present programs and information of relevance to association members.
27. Attending NAR and other industry meetings as needed. Attending the State Education Directors meetings. Responsible for identifying and previewing prospective speakers to be selected for state educational offerings.
28. Work with members and Governmental Affairs to identify and track industry trends and marketplace issues to incorporate into member knowledge profile and educational programs, products, and services.
29. Prepare and deliver report on the status of educational programs, products, and services to the KAR Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Professional Development Task Force, and/or Budget & Finance Committee as needed.
30. Prepare annual Education Department budget draft on the timeline as determined by CEO and Budget & Finance Committee.
31. Monitor monthly association budget to ensure revenue and expenses are accurate and compliant with budget allocations.
32. Seek and employ methods to accurately identify the potential total education market by program, product, and service.
33. Seek and employ methods to accurately identify current education market penetration and ways to increase market share.
34. Create, deploy, and review course evaluations to consider and implement advantageous, prudent modifications to current programs. Create reports on course evaluation trends and key takeaways for review by the Senior Director of Association Services.
35. Plan, organize, and direct the Graduate REALTORS Institute of Kansas, including curriculum development and instructor recommendations. Ensure the Institute course objectives are relevant, current, and meet NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR) criteria, and that instructors excel in teaching established curriculum to adult learners.
36. Work with marketing team to prepare promotional materials and develop an annual GRI schedule for the Association.
37. Create, implement, promote, and maintain the annual Right Track leadership development program. Facilitate program promotion to Association members and local boards; participant selection; meeting schedule and locations; program speakers and presentations; program costs and fees; participant recognition, and other program components as deemed necessary.
III. QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Proficiency in Zoom, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Teams.
2. Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
3. Knowledge and understanding of adult learning and ability to administer effective learning environments.
4. Knowledge and understanding of course development, curriculum, and testing.
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
6. Work well under pressure. Possess organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
7. Understanding of non-profit association operation.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
9. Be able to travel within the state and across the country when necessary.
10. Valid driver's license.
11. Ability to lift 40 pounds.
