Description
The Order Selector plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our customer orders. This position involves selecting, building, and preparing orders for shipment while adhering to productivity and quality standards. Order Picking
- Review pick lists or order documentation to identify the items and quantities required.
- Navigate the warehouse using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to locate items efficiently.
- Accurately and carefully select items from designated storage locations, ensuring the correct quantities and quality standards are met.
Quality Control
- Inspect all items for damage or defects before transferring them to the staging area.
- Verify item codes, descriptions, and quantities for accuracy to prevent order errors.
- Report any discrepancies, damage, or concerns to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
Packaging & Labeling
- Securely wrap and prepare pallets for shipment to ensure protection during transit.
- Follow established operating standards to minimize the risk of damage or contamination.
Inventory Management
- Accurately maintain records of orders and inventory movements.
- Assist with regular cycle counting and ensure inventory management systems are updated accordingly.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and in accordance with company policies.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety protocols and warehouse guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures related to health, safety, and security.
Team Collaboration
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure seamless workflow.
- Foster teamwork by contributing to problem-solving, process improvement, and a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Work closely with team members to achieve daily and long-term operational goals.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred but not required.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Familiarity with order picking methods and inventory management systems is a plus.
- Experience operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate well as part of a team.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Comfort and ability to work in a cold warehouse environment for prolonged periods.
