Keelson Management LLC is Hiring a Payroll and Benefits Manager Near Scottsdale, AZ

Description

 Keelson Management is looking to add a Payroll and Benefits Manager to their growing team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to develop best practices in every aspect of payroll and benefits for Keelson Management and Fenix Marine Services.

This new role will be responsible for administering all activities relating to payroll, benefits and HRIS processes, including the following: 

  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Develop and perform internal audits and control procedures to ensure that all wages and taxes are accurate.
  • Digitize and ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and payroll updates, including: new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Develop an on-boarding orientation regarding payroll and benefits for new employees.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports pertaining to payroll and benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for payroll and benefits processes; evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  • Serve as primary contact for benefits plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing.
  • Partner with the Accounting department to ensure prompt payment and accurate coding/accounting of payroll and benefits. 
  • Survey industry trends. Complete benefits surveys and review information obtained from the results. Analyze complex benefits information. Forecast trends and assist with future benefits designs. Develop specific recommendations for review by management.
  • Monitor administrative costs of benefits programs and recommend cost containment strategies, including alternative methods for administration and funding. Prepare budgetary recommendations and assist in the monitoring, verifying and reconciling of budgeted funds.
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package.
  • Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions. 
  • Be the subject matter expert regarding payroll, benefits, and HRIS administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Extensive knowledge and proven experience with all aspects of payroll and benefits

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficient with payroll software
  • Excellent customer service skills
