Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid NYS CDL driver’s license with Passenger (P) endorsement.
• Must be insurable by Kendal at Ithaca insurance.
• Pass a health physical upon hire and as required thereafter by NYS Department of Transportation.
• Adequate oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with others.
• May be required to work overtime during emergencies or special assignments.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to push and pull weights from 60 pounds to over 125 pounds.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time.

Essential Job Duties:

• Safely operate a bus with up to 30-passenger capacity, staying current with highway safety regulations.
• Oversee general safety of all passengers by assisting residents in entering and disembarking from vehicles, assuring the presence of assistive devices when needed, and ensuring the proper use of safety restraints at all times.
• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections for safety and mechanical function.
• Maintain the vehicle by routinely cleaning, checking, and reporting deficiencies to the manager.
• Maintain all required documentation and time logs as required by NYS Department of Transportation.
