Employment Opportunity –Part Time Kennel Technician
Kendall County is seeking a compassionate and attentive Kennel Technician to care for animals and maintain a clean, safe environment for the animals and the public. Must be reliable, personable, have good customer service skills and have some prior animal care experience.
Essential Functions:
A candidate for this position must be comfortable with animals and being in an animal focused environment. The candidate must also provide great customer service. Essential job duties include but are not limited to all duties included in the job description.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- A least six (6) months of prior computer experience is required.
- A minimum of one (1) year of prior animal handling experience.
- A minimum of one (1) year of prior animal medical experience.
- Valid and current driver’s license is required.
- Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, including live animals.
Work Schedule:
- Part-time position, 28 hours per week.
- Must have the flexibility to work during normal business hours, outside of normal business hours, weekends and holidays. Rotating schedule.
- This position’s office location is on-site at the Kendall County Animal Control Building in Yorkville, Illinois.
Benefits:
- Base pay range: $15-$16/hour / DOQ.
- Paid vacation time – accrued each month, available for use immediately, and increases incrementally with years of service.
- Paid personal/sick days per year.
- Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) Pension Plan.
