KENT® Nutrition Group (KNG), a member of the KENT Corporation family of companies has an exciting opportunity to join their team in Quality as a Quality Control Support professional at the Sheldon, IA plant! We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Support professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in our production processes by conducting various quality control activities. This is a 1st shift opportunity with an approximate schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- This position is designed and intended to be performed in Sheldon, IA.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform regular sampling and testing to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Conducting Quality Tests of Inbound Ingredients: Test and verify the quality of all inbound ingredients to ensure they meet our specifications and standards.
- Housekeeping of Production Area: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Entering Reports: Accurately enter quality control data and test results into the appropriate systems and generate necessary reports.
- Making Stickers for Samples and Pallets: Create and apply stickers for samples and pallets to ensure proper identification and traceability.
- Making Tags for Bagged Products: Produce and attach tags for bagged products to ensure correct labeling and information.
- Operation of forklift to remove pallets from production line and load onto scheduled outbound transportation.
- Checking production line finished product quality specification and sealing standards.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in quality control or related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a quality control or similar role preferred.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry and report generation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication, verbal, written and math skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 55lbs from floor to working height as job requires.
- Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
