Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Lead SQL Data Engineer in Greenwood Village, CO.
Summary:
As a hands-on Team Lead in the field of data engineering, you will be responsible for leading a team of four data engineers who are primarily focused on building data pipelines. Your team will be working with a nearshore team, collaborating with both onsite and nearshore teams, to design, develop, and maintain efficient data pipelines using SQL, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, Snowflake, S3, Python, and other relevant technologies. The team will also provide triage, root cause analysis and development of older code to meet performance and latency objectives of new applications.
Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of four data engineers, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure the successful completion of projects and tasks
* Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of data engineering projects within agreed-upon timelines, scope, and quality standards
* Technical Expertise: Demonstrate hands-on expertise in data engineering technologies, including SQL, ETL, Snowflake, S3, Python, and ETL tools, and guide the team in applying best practices
* Design and Architecture: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop efficient and scalable data pipeline solutions using appropriate technologies
* Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and reliability of data pipelines through rigorous testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data issues
* Performance Optimization: Continuously identify and implement performance improvements for data pipelines to enhance efficiency, throughput, and scalability
* Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, data flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures for data engineering processes
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
* Proven experience leading and managing a team of data engineers
* Strong technical proficiency in SQL, ETL processes, Snowflake, S3, Python, and other relevant data engineering technologies
* Solid understanding of data architecture principles and best practices
* Experience in designing and developing scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows
* Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines
* Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire team members
* Certifications in relevant data engineering technologies (e.g., Snowflake, AWS) are a plus
* Familiarity with Airflow is a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
