What are the responsibilities and job description for the FLOOR TECHNICIAN position at KidsPeace Childrens Hospital?
A Floor Technician is responsible for following established policies and procedures to maintain all facilities in a clean, sanitary and attractive condition. Additional responsibilities may include light maintenance and snow removal.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must possess basic personal computer knowledge and skills.
Valid driver’s license required.
HS Diploma or GED required OR 5 years of relatable life and / or work experience to be verified by references and / or employment verification.
Basic knowledge of chemicals utilized in routine cleaning required. Familiarity with corresponding S.D.S. information required.
Some experience with acute emotionally challenged children or adolescents preferred.
JOB DUTIES :
Assure that cleaning chemicals and paper products are always stocked and in sufficient supply. Order and submit purchase orders for said supplies. Request replacement equipment when needed.
Assist in setting up and tearing down bleachers, chairs, tables and decorations for special events.
Perform any duties requested by the Supervisor to insure a safe and clean environment for our clients.
Clean classrooms, cafeterias, lounges, offices, time-out rooms, therapy rooms, utility rooms, work stations, common areas, and recreational areas including entrances, exits, elevators, gyms, hallways, stairwells, walls, floors, furniture, fixtures, windows, curtains, water fountains, etc. Disinfect bathrooms, telephones, and beds according to KidsPeace policy and procedures.
Report unsafe conditions observed on your shift to a department Supervisor (via direct communication, voice mail and work orders), including any equipment malfunction.
Know and perform all aspects of floor maintenance; scrubbing, stripping and waxing of tile floors plus bonnet cleaning, shampooing and extracting of carpet. Perform minor repairs on this equipment.
