The Social Service Specialist is responsible for promoting and implementing the program and services of the Social Service Department.
Role And Responsibilities
Work is performed in a typical office environment and off-site that may include but not limited to senior center, public housing, medical setting, and client’s residence. May need to drive.
Role And Responsibilities
- Key roles and responsibilities may cover the following areas:
- Community outreach
- Information and assistance
- Home visits
- Client assessment
- Service/care consultation
- Service coordination
- Develops service or care plan
- Documentation
- Facilitates workshop and support group
- Coordinates and conducts community education events
- Supports department’s social media information and support platforms
- Attends relevant trainings
- Collaborates with other departments to promote the cause and mission of Kin On
- Participates in department or business-related meetings
- Ensures services to follow best practice and all applicable government regulations
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work, human services, health or related fields.
- 1 years of work experience in social or health service.
- Bilingual in English and Chinese preferred.
- Has a valid Washington State Driver's license, auto insurance, access to a vehicle and willing to drive.
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S..
- Strong knowledge in social services
- Has the required certification to provide services (i.e. workshop) based on program stipulations
- High level of professionalism, and ability to balance urgency and decisiveness with patience and compassion
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, characterized by presence, respect for others, good listening skills, clear verbal, written and thinking skills, open minded and has the ability to think independently
- Strong project management skills, effective organizational skills, business acumen, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and analysis with high attention to detail
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders and audience
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently with a focus on completing tasks within a timely manner
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships throughout all levels of the organization
- Ability to work effectively within a diverse workforce
- Pay: $23.00/hour - $27.00/hour
