What's the job?
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for understanding and documenting Enterprise Data Warehouse data designs. This includes identifying data sources, detailing how source data is ingested into the data platform, and defining data mappings and data models. You will also play a key role in specifying data harmonization requirements, calculations, derivations, and transformation logic. Your work will ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy, supporting robust decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Design and document ingestions from existing sources.
- Collaborate with Principal Data Designer to design and document ingestions from new sources.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and data platform teams to create designs that meet or exceed requirements, comply with principles, with supporting documentation delivered accurately and on time.
- Keep up to date with the data design principles.
- Contribute to improvements to ways of working and documentation templates.
- Peer review colleagues designs to ensure that they meet the requirements and principles.
- Support the workstream by picking up additional design work when capacity allows.

- Identifying basic data quality rules from the data source profiling and from business rules.
