This position is responsible for the accounts receivable ledger; billing; ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and within legal compliance; and providing support to the accounting team in the following functions: cash application, account reconciliation, invoice upload, journal entries, as well as general account maintenance.  This role also supports financial decision-making information by collecting, analyzing, investigating, and reporting financial data.

Key Duties Include

Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs work in a safe manner; promotes and fosters a safe work environment
  • Responsible for confirming month end intercompany balances
  • Responsible for daily cash posting into SAP and month end reconciliation on bank
  • Assists in month end financial consolidation and completion of executive reporting package
  • Performs monthly, quarterly, and yearly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepares accrual and recurring monthly journal entries.
  • Monthly review of customer credit ratings and approval of revised credit limits.
  • Calculates and processes Sales & Use tax for all states on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis as required by law.
  • Processes bi-weekly payroll, employee bonus’, share options and other payroll related payments.
  • Ensures that all items related to payroll are completed on time and accurately each pay period. Works with appropriate Managers and Human Resources to ensure accuracy.
  • Determines and fulfills appropriate payroll and payroll/unemployment tax related obligations in each state.
  • Determines the best way to create new earning or deduction codes to ensure legal compliance and to accomplish company needs.
  • Prepares payroll reports and distributes to appropriate people.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reports needed changes, and/or figures out the change needed and takes appropriate action to make the change.
  • Collaborates with external and internal customers to reconcile any discrepancies and, share ownership of results. Maintain a high degree of integrity and honesty within team.
  • Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience: BS/BA in Business Management, Accounting, Finance or Economics required. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in reporting, consolidation and financial analysis and a minimum of two (2) years’ payroll experience. Experience in accounting, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) knowledge.  SAP or similar software experience preferred.

     

    Must have:

    • Strong working knowledge of business computer applications (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Concur Expenses)
    • Strong math, time management, and organization skills
    • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Strong customer service orientation and desire to probe further into data
    • Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships
    • Commercial and business awareness
    • Good communication skills – both written and verbal
    • Deadline-orientated and an ability to stick to time constraints

     

    Must be able to:

    • Work in a team based environment and maintain a high level of interpersonal skills
    • Effectively interact with management, business group, auditors, customers, and vendors
    • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
    • Make decisions, exercise judgment, and interface effectively with all levels of staff
    • Be proactive and work independently
    • Manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast paced environment

     

     

    Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills 

     

    Mathematical Skills: Strong numerical competence, with the ability to calculate figures by using advanced math skills.

     

    Reasoning Skills: Ability to deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism. Possess strong customer service skills and the ability to resolve problems in a diplomatic manner.
