We are hiring a Director of Claims Operations to join our team onsite in our beautiful new office building in Richmond, VA.
Job Description :
This role involves developing and implementing system enhancements to streamline the claims handling process. It also entails creating and refining processes for the efficient handling of property casualty claims, as well as providing educational and functional support for our Claim personnel. The Claims Operations leader will oversee all operational aspects of the Claims Department. This collaborative and dynamic leader will engage across the organization with leaders from all departments to support both Claim and the company's mission.
Position Functions :
- Lead a team of high performing Claim Administrative support staff through training and development.
- Responsible for reinsurance reporting, as well as internal audits and interfacing with reinsurance Claim executives.
- Responsible for Claim's new hire onboarding, training content, as well as coordination and leading annual Claims training.
- Responsible for designing and maintaining internal data capture reports, as well as the Claim Communication platform.
- Responsible for Claim financial controls and partnering with internal stakeholders such as Finance and Internal Audit.
- Responsible for all data analysis and reporting, including Claim authority, deductible and other Claim financial controls.
- Responsible for leading and developing the Quality and Learning and Development functions within the Claim Department.
- Responsible for developing KPIs and ROI models across multiple Claim units to facilitate operational decision making.
- Responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating all internal sites to support Claims business as well as regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Partner with Claim leaders in identifying deliverables and leading project management.
- Responsible for continuing to develop Claims operational practices and procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiencies.
- Partner with Actuary, Compliance, Underwriting and Finance to improve claim performance and processes.
- Develop metric-based reports and analysis of all litigated matters.
- Manage vendor selection, contract negotiations and development of KPIs to measure vendor performance.
- Manage claims regulatory reporting and licensure requirements and establish processes and protocols for same.
- Define and drive the execution of functional initiatives to support company-wide mission and objectives.
- Build / model budgets for effective asset management and ROI analyses for Claim initiatives.
- Lead all legal resource management activities, including billing guidelines, outside counsel initiatives and perform data analysis to improve outcomes.
- Coordinate, lead and drive IT enhancements, as well as automation of claim processes.
- Drive operational excellence through a robust quality assurance program.
- Responsible for system improvements, as well as evaluating and implementing use of AI in Claim handling to improve claim outcomes.
- Collaborate with Senior Claim officials to successfully deliver new projects and initiatives.
- Manage technology and operations projects from idea to implementation to improve operational effectiveness.
- Work with Claims Leadership to refine, update and maintain Claim guidelines.
- Viewed as a leader with strong communication skills and proven technical expertise.
