Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Model Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in model making and fabrication, with the ability to transform designs into precise physical models. This role requires proficiency in various tools and techniques, as well as a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality results.
Duties
- Interpret and analyze blueprints and technical drawings to create accurate models.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and gauges to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Assemble components using various methods.
- Operate machinery and fabrication equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to refine models based on feedback and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
- Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Skills
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting technical specifications.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments for accurate model creation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Attention to detail

- Knowledge of hand-tools (drills, saws, sanders, screwdrivers, files, etc.)
- Reliable transportation to work.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Shop tools (table saw, band saw, sanders, lathe, etc.)
- 3D printer knowledge/experience.
- Model making experience (for example: 3D printed, plastic kits, wood kits)
- Painting knowledge (rattle can, airbrush, etc.)
