Social workers
Social workers provide comprehensive social work services to inpatient population which include: completing admission paperwork, contacting families and/or other support systems patients have, completing weekly/monthly notes consisting of patient clinical presentation, readiness for discharge and other pertinent information. Social workers assist in the development of a discharge plan ensuring wrap around services are in place.
They are active participants in treatment team meetings and discharge meetings that are held weekly on the units. They provide active group treatment on the mall. They are an integral part of the interdisciplinary team and are vital to the admission/discharge processes here at MPC.
