Purpose of Job
The Nutritionist will plan, organize, coordinate and evaluate Health Department nutrition programming related to food literacy and community food access.
Essential Functions
This role focuses on increasing access to fresh fruits and vegetables and increasing development of food literacy skills in the community. Some of the tasks this role is responsible for include:
- Developing and maintaining partnerships with early childcare centers and local food pantries
- Developing and implementing policy, systems and environmental changes
- Participating in grant writing and grant management responsibilities
Minimum Training & Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Health Nutrition, or related field
- Must meet State of Tennessee licensure requirements and maintain status as a Registered Dietitian
- Minimum 1 year of progressive Public Health Nutrition experience, or similar. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered for employment into the position.

Pay: $31.29 per hour
