Main Overview: This candidate would be responsible for performing environmental and safety activities to ensure legal and regulatory compliance with OSHA and EPA. Functions as primary contact to analyze and react to environmental and safety emergencies on an on-call basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Requires constant physical activity throughout shift (except breaks and lunch) such as walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, handling, near/far vision, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Maintains working knowledge of current environmental and safety standards.
Responsible for annual hazmat and DOT, RCRA, confined space, lockout/tag out, SPCC and groundwater, fire extinguisher, emergency action procedures, emergency response procedures, hazardous communication, first aid, CPR, AED, and bloodborne pathogen training and recording.
Responsible for wastewater monitoring and reporting.
Responsible for hazardous and non-hazardous waste containment, labeling, storage, disposal, and recording.
Responsible for noise and air monitoring, assessment, and recording.
Responsible for EPA and OSHA compliance and reporting.
Responsible for secondary containment drainage log and recording; weekly wastewater containment inspection and recording; monthly fire extinguisher inspection; monthly casting coolant pit, outside waste storage, and transformer inspection and recording; monthly sprinkler testing and recording; and environmental incident reporting.
Responsible for annual safety and environmental program reviews and updates.
Responsible for ISO 14001 internal audits.
Coordinates MSDS reviews and maintains current MSDS folders.
Responsible for emergency systems such as security and fire systems.
Responsible for enforcing company safety and environmental policies.
