This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity, security, and functionality of our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity across our corporate and logistics operations. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of voice and data services, while championing best practices in system security and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain LAN/Multi-Site WAN and virtualization environments, utilizing Cisco, Adtran routers, and HPE switching.
- Configure and troubleshoot Watchguard & Palo Alto Firewalls, SSL VPN access, and remote office VPN tunnels.
- Manage MPLS, SDWAN, Ethernet, and BGP/OSPF/EIGRP routing protocols.
- Ensure network security using AV, next-gen AV, and TCP/IP protocols.
- Develop and update Visio diagrams, security standards, and policies in alignment with industry best practices.
- Administer Active Directory and support virtual environments including Windows, Exchange, and SharePoint.
- Lead network upgrades, patch management, and vendor interactions for hardware/software.
- Train IT staff on network tools and ensure documentation of troubleshooting and configuration.
- Monitor LAN/WAN performance, troubleshoot application issues, and assist with system admin tasks.
- Participate in after-hours on-call rotation and occasional travel to local and regional sites.
Required Experience:
- 3 years of network management and security, local and wide area network infrastructure experience.
- Strong organizational, communication, and independent working skills.
- 5 years in network infrastructure and vendor interaction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related IT field.
- Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Master’s, CCNP) are preferred.
- Office-based with occasional travel and non-standard hours for system upgrades or emergencies.
- Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and occasionally adjust or move IT equipment.
