What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kriete Leasing & Rental Controller position at Kriete Truck Centers?
Kriete Leasing & Rental (KL&R) is a privately held truck & vehicle leasing company focused on the acquisition and leasing of over-the-road vehicles & equipment in the transportation industry. The Controller oversees all accounting & finance functions including cash management, vehicle financing, cash flow, financial planning & analysis, balance sheet and P&L management. The role collaborates with multiple departments across the company owned dealer network. This role will report to the President of KL&R.
As we are expanding, we are looking to expand our leadership team to lead our finance & accounting department, to better serve our internal and external customers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:
- Oversee all cash management functions including cash position reporting, cash forecasting, bank account management and monitor cash needs across the organization.
- Collaborate with Kriete F&I department on all equipment financing decisions.
- Monitoring and planning for maturities of promissory notes and leases (including early buyout options) to limit cash impact.
- Ensuring compliance with all internal policies & Credit Agreements.
- Active engagement in customer credit & collection process.
- Recommending the most appropriate financing strategy for vehicle leases.
- Coordinate with our Corporate team to administer bank accounts and services. (opening/closing of accounts, changes in services, changes in bank account structures, changes of bank account signers), as needed.
- Coordinate with our Corporate team to manage relationships with all banking and financing counterparties.
- Direct annual cash flow and balance sheet budgeting and monthly forecasting processes. Requires collaboration across the company.
- Establish policies and procedures to support the organization.
- Manage & monitor company purchasing and credit card programs.
- Lead designated workflow improvement efforts and/or other special projects.
- Lead the implementation of the new ERP system. (NetSuite experience a plus)
- Collaborate with Corporate in support of internal/external audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in finance/accounting business operations.
- Prior experience in vehicle leasing preferred (not required).
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and reporting requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees in the KL&R Accounting Department. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
