About the Role:
As a Crating Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our high-quality equipment arrives at its destination safely. You'll be responsible for building custom crates and skids, loading machinery for outbound delivery, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Construct machinery crating skids according to precise dimensions, utilizing hand tools such as saws, nail guns, drills, etc.
- Build safety cage assemblies and install them to the final assembly of machines before shipment.
- Maintain inventory of crating supplies and tools.
- Ensure a clean and organized work area, including the wood shop, crating area, and surrounding outdoor spaces.
- Maintain clean and organized storage sheds and containers.
- Properly tarp and store outdoor materials during winter.
- Empty dumpsters as needed.
Qualifications:
- Passionate about workplace safety
- 2 years of related experience, preferably in construction or woodworking.
- Proficiency with hand tools, woodworking techniques, drilling, and measuring.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Basic print reading skills.
- Experience operating power tools such as table saws, chop saws, and drills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good communication skills.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and write in English.
