What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper, Full-time position at La Posada?
Position Summary:
To keep the community in a clean and sanitary condition providing for the welfare and care of residents and guests by maintaining a healthful environment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Clean assigned rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other areas of the community thoroughly and efficiently
- Carry linens, towels and cleaning supplies using wheeled carts and/or hand-held carriers
- Dust and polish furniture and equipment
- Clean overall kitchen area
- Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas
- Replenish bathroom supplies as necessary
- Change bed linens
- Dust window blinds, ceilings and corners
- Wash windows, walls, ceilings and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary
- Vacuum, sweep and/or mop apartment floors
- Spot clean carpets when necessary
- Sort clothing and other articles, load washing machines and iron and/or fold dried items (depending upon community)
- Use supplies and cleaning agents properly
- Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean and tidy
- Report any maintenance repairs to supervisor
- Report any missing, damaged or found items to supervisor
- Display ability to comfortably work near and around resident’s pets (dogs, cats, birds, etc.)
Education/Experience/Training:
High school graduate preferred.
Six months to one year of housekeeping experience.
Experience working in a senior environment preferred.
